Dermal Fillers (Teoxane™) — Volume, Contour & Rejuvenation In Jesmond, Newcastle
Restore Volume. Enhance Contours. Refine Your Look.
What Are Teoxane™ Dermal Fillers?
Teoxane™’s range of dermal fillers are hyaluronic acid (HA) gels of non-animal origin, crosslinked and formulated to provide volumising and contouring support in the soft tissues of the face.
A distinguishing feature of the Teoxane RHA® line is its “resilient” architecture -a manufacturing method that preserves longer HA chains and minimises unnecessary crosslinking, allowing the gel to stretch, rebound, and better adapt to natural facial movement without fragmenting or stiffening.
From a clinical standpoint, TeoxaneTM fillers have demonstrated durability in dynamic facial areas (e.g. nasolabial folds) for up to 15 months; in the lips, many show good effect for around 12 months.
They are ideal for both restorative and aesthetic augmentation-restoring lost volume, refining contours, correcting asymmetries, and softening lines and folds- all while aiming to maintain natural-looking, responsive movement.
Areas We Treat (With Teoxane™ Dermal Fillers)
In our clinic, we commonly use TeoxaneTM fillers in the following facial zones:
Area | What We Can Achieve |
Cheeks / Midface | Restore support lost over time, lift sagging soft tissues, reduce jowls, recontour the malar region |
Nasolabial Folds (Smile Lines) | Soften the depression from the nasal ala to corner of mouth |
Marionette Lines / Oral Commissures | Reduce the downward pull, soften the shadowing from mouth corners. May require support from adjacent zones (cheek, jawline) |
Chin / Chin Projection | Define the chin, correct asymmetries or retrusion, smooth chin dimpling. Can reduce jowls jowls |
Piriform / Alar Base | Subtle augmentation of the piriform aperture zone to improve nasal base aesthetics / support alar base and reduced nasolabial folds |
Lips & Perioral Lines | Lip volume, border definition, smoothing perioral “lipstick lines” |
Because of TeoxaneTM’s dynamic adaptability, it is especially suited to mobile regions like the lips and perioral area, where the filler must move harmoniously with expression.
Indications & Special Scenario: “Mounjaro / Ozempic Face”
Rapid weight loss or use of GLP-1 receptor agonists (e.g. Ozempic, Wegovy, Tirzepatide/Mounjaro) can lead to undesirable facial volume depletion. This so-called “Ozempic face” (or GLP-1-associated facial volume loss) tends to highlight hollows in the cheeks, nasolabial folds, and marionette areas.
In such cases, TeoxaneTM fillers are a powerful tool for facial balancing / volumetric restoration, reinflating the soft tissue scaffolding and smoothing transitions. Many aesthetic practitioners treat the midface (cheeks / zygoma / submalar region) first, then progress downward (jawline, marionette) to restore harmony and avoid overfilling isolated zones.
Important caveats in the context of weight loss:
- Because the fat pads and soft tissue architecture have shifted, a deeper, structural approach (with appropriate gels) is often needed before superficial smoothing layers.
- If further weight loss is expected, filler plans may need adjustment or postponement for optimal timing.
Thus, in your consultation, we will discuss whether your weight trajectory is stable before finalising an aesthetic treatment plan.
Treatment Day: Anaesthesia, Procedure & Sensation
Most TeoxaneTM filler syringes already include lidocaine (≈ 0.3 %) in the gel to reduce discomfort on injection.
In addition, for Lip treatment, we typically apply a topical numbing cream (e.g. lidocaine-based) to further maximise patient comfort.
The injections themselves are performed with fine needles
You may feel a mild “pinch,” pressure, or stretching sensation during injection; most report minimal discomfort.
We prioritise precision, safety, and comfort throughout the session.
Treatment Duration, Downtime & Aftercare
Treatment Length
A typical filler session for multiple areas (e.g. cheeks + nasolabial + marionette) may take 30 to 60 minutes.
Downtime & Recovery
One of the attractions of dermal fillers is the minimal downtime. Most patients can return to normal daily activities immediately or within 24 hours.
- You may experience mild swelling, redness, tenderness, bruising or firmness at injection sites. These typically resolve over several days up to 1–2 weeks.
- In more delicate or thin-skinned zones (e.g. lips, perioral area), bruising or swelling may last slightly longer.
- Avoid strenuous exertion, heat exposure (sauna, hot yoga), alcohol, and facial massage for ~24–48 hours to reduce swelling and bruising.
Aftercare Tips
- Apply ice or cold compresses (wrapped) for short intervals in the first 24 hours.
- Sleep with the head elevated (extra pillow) if there is swelling.
- Avoid lying face down or pressing on the treated areas.
- Avoid heavy facial treatments (peels, intense lasers) for 1–2 weeks unless cleared by me.
- Use gentle skincare, avoid aggressive rubbing or exfoliants.
